Native Voices Phase II

Last year, we brought you Native Voices in Idaho Phase I. We'd like to continue that momentum in 2022 with Phase II and we need your help. Native Voices in Idaho is an educational program designed to assist teachers and educators in integrating Native-centered content into lesson planning. The tools provided, center the voices of Indigenous people in Idaho to inspire a passion for cross-cultural learning in students, educators, and all learners designed to cultivate a community of understanding and respect for Indigenous experiences and contributions.

How you can contribute to Phase II

  • The contributions we are looking for this year are that of Indigenous educators who can provide content and lesson plans to students following the Idaho State Standards for education.

We are specifically looking for lesson plans that center around:

    • Completing 4th grade Native Idaho State Standards

o Identifying the diversity within Idaho's American Indian tribes

o State, local and tribal governments

o Governing structure of the American Indian tribes in Idaho

    • 8th - 12th grade Native Idaho State Standards

  • We are also looking for Native students in grades 8 through 12 who have a story to tell about their lives, loves, and plans for the future. These students will appear in our next set of videos that will provide students and educators with a glimpse into the lives, hopes, and dreams, of our Native students of Idaho.
